This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, the legal basis on which we rely, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to www.dreamtold.com.
This policy is provided for your information. It is not a contract, and reading the site does not constitute agreement to it or consent to any optional processing. Where we rely on your consent, we ask for it separately and you may withdraw it at any time.
01Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Contact form. Your name, email address, and the message you write. - Newsletter signup. Your first name and email address.
We do not ask for a phone number, and we do not collect payment details of any kind.
Information collected automatically
- Dictionary search terms that return no result. When a search of our dream dictionary finds nothing, the search text is sent to us and stored so we can see which dream symbols readers want that we have not yet written about. The text is stored on its own, without a name, account, or profile attached. Please do not type personal information into the search box. - Analytics information, but only if you accept optional cookies. See "Cookies, analytics and session recording" below.
Information we do not collect
We do not sell personal information, we do not use it for personalized advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

03Cookies, Analytics and Session Recording
Nothing optional runs until you accept it. Until you do, no analytics or session-recording script is loaded at all, and if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we do not load them regardless of any other choice.
If you accept optional cookies, we use:
- Google Analytics 4 to count page views and understand which content is read. - Microsoft Clarity, which does more than count visits. Clarity records your session, capturing mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and the pages you move through, and builds heatmaps from it. We use it to find parts of the site that are confusing or broken. It is a recording of how the page was used, not a recording of you personally, and we do not use it to identify anyone.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer. Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie and storage item by name.
04Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend legal claims.
05International Transfers
We are based in the United States, and most of our providers process data in the United States. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, this means your personal information is transferred outside your country.
Where that happens, the transfer is made under an appropriate safeguard: the EU-US and UK-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, and otherwise Standard Contractual Clauses.

We delete or anonymize information once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for.
07Your Rights
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy of it. - Rectification, to have inaccurate information corrected. - Erasure, to have your information deleted. - Restriction, to limit how we use your information. - Object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests. - Data portability, to receive information you gave us in a portable format. - Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent. Withdrawing does not affect anything we did before you withdrew.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In the European Economic Area it is the authority in the country where you live or work.
If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law.

08Children's Privacy
DreamTold is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and where local law sets a lower age of digital consent, from anyone under that age. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
09Protecting Your Information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10Links to Other Websites
Our site links to websites we do not control. This policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
11Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above. If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will say so clearly on the site.
